Brian's Broken Wrist

Let's join the play-by-play at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Softball League...

"It's a pleasant spring night here in Greenbelt and the Charlie Browns are leading by ten. Playing left centerfield is Roberts, a second year veteran acquired from Cleveland in 1995. The pitcher winds up, and it's a blooper up the middle just over second base. The outfielders are playing too deep to get this one... wait, Roberts is going for it. He's pouring on the speed, he dives, *snap* and HE CAUGHT THE BALL! What a catch! Wait, he's not getting up. He's walking off the field holding his wrist and it looks like he's in a lot of pain."

Initial reports from the Charlie Browns' team doctor are not good. Roberts spent the rest of the game at the Laurel Regional Hospital Emergency Room having his hand X-rayed. It appears as if he has broken the radius bone in his left wrist and will be out at least six weeks.

Below are X-rays of his wrist (back of the hand on the left and a side view on the right) taken on the 22nd of April 1996 at 18:30...
